If you have straight hair, try a ceramic flat iron. Ceramic is better on your hair. It will smooth it out and remove the puffiness. Or use mousse to control it's thickness, but use it when it's wet. You should try to get a a good hair cut that will make it much more manaegable, but shampoo is just the start, there are lots of styling products out there. It depends on the rest of your hair type.
