Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

I have a big problem with my hair. It is all of the above, and even when I spend hours blowdrying it, it still doesn't look good. Does anyone have a similar problem or tips? I am looking for a cream or something to put in it after washing and leave in it. I basically need a miracle cream or something!

Paul Mitchell has a Super Skinny Hair Serum and another product that is called Straight Works...it's great for hair like yours..Mine is the exact same way. It will dry faster with the Straight works and be silkier with both the serum and the straight works. Use a round brush when blow drying it if you want. That works with mine! I also use Biolage Gelee (it's a gel for curly hair, if that's the look you wanted to go for! It really works and doesn't make your hair greasy looking!) Perming your hair can seriously damage it. And if it's colored (you didn't say if it was or not) a good stylist won't let you perm your hair for fear of further damage being done! Hope that helps!!

Spend the money on a perm that relaxes the hair. That's my best advice and don't go somewhere cheap. Go to a real salon.

Try Frizz-ease by John Freida.

If you think dealing with your hair is tough.. I promise it's tougher when you have none.

Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

try anti frizz and for the thick hair u could get it layerd and straighten your hair

Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

I use Bedhead Manipulator.

Some others you can try to reduce frizz are Frizz Ease, John Freida, and Redkin Serum.

Also take it easy with the blowdryer, this compounds the problem for most people!

Good luck!!

Frizz-ease by John Frieda, it's THE BEST!!

Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

umm...frizz control will defenitly help it

Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

Also try using a ceramic straightening iron. They work wonders!

Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

go get a japenese perm. thats if you always want it straight.

No, you don't need a miracle cream, you need good advice. Blowdrying is the worst thing you can do for poofy hair. It makes it ten times worse.

Let it air dry, then use a straightener. Add a little "sleek" creme from Matrix. It's in an orange tube. It'll work, I promise.

Try using some pomade. Bed Head makes a good one, despite their name! :-)

The problem is all of the blowdrying. I have this kind of hair. After you wash and condition and towel dry your hair, then put in a ton of mousse and let it air dry. I promise you this works. Use the Finesse touchables mousse or the one from the Got 2 Be line, they don't make your hair sticky and hard. The more you mess with your hair, the more problems you will have, it really sounds like you need to hang up your blowdryer for awhile.

use products to help your hair be less frizzy any thing you see and gel maybe go to the hair dresser and get your hair thinned therefor it wont be that poofy. get a chi flat iron straightner and blow dry it not just blow dry it.

Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

put your hair in braids, it fast, simply and easy and it doesnt cost much

Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

try finding a curl defining serum, and while your hair is wet work that through your hair.. and then buy a hair diffuser... not a blow dryer.. (the kind with the LARGE round end on it) and use that to dry your hair. it works for my sister... and seh ahs all of the above.. BUT he hair is really curly.. so i odn't knwo if that woudl make the difference or not...

G/L tho

Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

well first off if your hair is poofy and frizzy do not blow dry it!!!! i have the same problem and that makes it worse because it damages your hair. i use a lot of panteen products and they really work. its worth the price. i use sleek and smooth conditioner and shampoo(has a green lable) and some leave in treatment that is actually a type of conditioner that gives me the same result as any kind of gel or mousse. the longer i use it the better my hair is(also panteen with green lable)

Would you be able to get a hair straightener? Or do you want to keep it curly? If you want it curly but not frizzy, try Frizz-Ease shampoo. They have special formulas for different hair types. If you'd like to invest in a hair straightener, get a Conair Ceramic one. Those work great! Blowdrying will only add to the poof. Towel dry, brush out, then let it air dry. Don't go to bed with wet hair, don't put it up when it's wet.

I have the same problem, by the way. All of the above works well for me. Frizz-Ease also has a hair serum, that you spray on, and that is basically you "miracle cream"!

I use this smoothing shine junk by Paul Mitchell. It's about $16 at the salon. Another one that works just as good just doesnt smell as good is Matrix. It's about $13 a pop. Amazing stuff. Use it when your hair is wet or damp. Use a pump or about the size of a dime if your hair is past yoru shoulders. Love it!

you can try coconut oil hair shine from the body shop. it's great. also frizz-ease brand products have sylicone in them and work well. you can get them at any drug or discount store (wallgreens or walmart) and potion #9 from sebastian. good luck.

First, stop the blow drying. That will only make it worse. If you really can't let it air dry then only blow dry enough to get most of the moisture away but not all. I have tried all the serums and such and to tell you the truth, because my hair is so thick, they only work for a short while.

Also, after you condition your hair, do not rinse all of it out. I also put a small amount of conditioner in a spray bottle of water and mist my hair. It helps.

Good luck

get it relaxed, depending on the length of your hair the price may range (but it lasts a long time time so its completely worth the price). And invest in a Chi flat Iron, it is great and will keep your hair flat as can be :)

Work with what you've got instead of against it. My friend, who has hair like you're describing, uses a medium hold product for curly hair (try different brands 'til you find the one you like). This way it held the curl so it wouldn't get poofy or frizzy, but it wasn't crucnchy when it dried either. It looks really great. And when she would french-braid it, she would leave conditioner in her hair to keep it from getting frizzy "fly-aways" later in the day. She goes to a beauty supply store %26amp; pays a llittle more than you would at the market, but she says it's worth it.

Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

Please try a solution called wrap lotion, when you wash and condition your hair, spray the wrap lotion onto the hair, and if you can start to wrap your hair from the crown of your head, in a circle, if your have to pin it to go around in the circle it's worth it, and let it dry, and then comb your hair out; dry and style.

A wrap hairdo is known and famous and among AA and can work on any ones hair. It' takes about three weeks to fully tame AA hair. You do this process when you have time over night, laying around the house. And you need a good leave in conditioner, forget the hair dryer for now, and stick with you taming process and chemicals. If you use a hair dryer it should be a hood, to dry your wraps that way!

I use the wrap style, and my hair is a beautiful Blondie, and everywhere I go Compliments, and stares! Just Beautiful!

Chicka, I had the same problem. My hair iz exactly like that. I got my hair cut short, and use A LOT of hair shtuff. I might eventually get it cut so short that I can just spike it. But seriously, it's a heck of a lot easier to take care of your hair when it's short than when It's long.

P.S. yeah, It's true. blowdrying iz baaad. Heat damage girlie. and for short hair, use "freeze"

Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

I have thick wavy, frizzy, hair. It is curlier on the bottom which makes it poofy. Recently I tried Herbal Essences straight as a pin shampoo + conditioner. It has been amazing. I still blowdry it with the blowdrier pointed down at my head to straighten it out. It doesn't make it as straight as a pin but it definetly controls it more. I would check it out.

You need to put in a leave in coditioner after you get out of the shower, then you need to let it dry natrally.....(for the leave in coditioner, it needs to be Garnier Frutis) and the trim about every 3 months, and it should be nice and shiny......... my hair WAS that way, now it is longer and beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! :P :) :}

Tips for thick, half curly, poofy, frizzy hair.?

First off,STOP using a blow drier for awhile!!!You are drying your hair out and causing it to be even more frizzy!!Don't use harsh chemicals or straighteners until you can curb some of the damage to your hair .Click on my avatar picture to go to my answers profile and click on the 360 link to see my picture and what my hair looks like,I have long, curly, thick hair and I use either Dove frizz controll lotion,it's like a leave in that smooths your frizzes and poofyness,or garner fructis leave in conditioning cream for curly hair or sleek and shine,it works miracles and you get enough to last you a while, the price isn't bad either.I have used frizz ease it's not bad, but it's too pricey to keep buying all the time, because you don't get enough product and you will run out a lot. Also using a shampoo and conditioner that's made for curly or frizzy hair will help out tremendously, try the new herbal essences hello hydration line,it's in a big light blue bottle with a circle on the front,it's what I use,and it really works for me.You will see results right away if you try this!!!
