Anything anyone says about hair growing back thicker isn't true. There's no need to shave your baby's head at all!

I didn't even grow any hair until I was a year old and my hair is really thick.

Genetics determine how thick the hair's gonna be, you can't do anything about it.

I have never heard of anyone doing that.

yea i had a friend who did it im not to sure if the babies hair grew back thicker because it was hardly there to begin with but what it does do is grow back evenly if that makes sense because it all grows together hope that helps

You already asked this.

No. I have NEVER heard anything like that. Her hair will grow when it grows. It is not abnormal for 6 month olds to be bald headed. I was bald til I wasl almost 3. My daughter til she was about two. And my son just really started sprouting hair maybe 3 months ago. He'll be 17 months next friday.

i does come out all thick but it's up to you my baby is bald and has a little bit of hair but i wouldn't shave it off

I wouldn't do it, but that is just me. As my kids have grown, their hair textures have changed. One went from very light, thin, and fine to pretty think and wavy, the other was very thick and curly to a medium thickness and a very slight wave.

I would just wait it out.

Don't listen to those people! Baby hair at 6 months is just "starter hair" and is soon replaced with the real stuff. Both my kids had peach-fuzz only at that age, and at about a year to 18 mos. began producing thick curls...as adults now, they have humongous thick wavy hair. Don't mess with your fuzzy little kid...just wait a while! Shaving off a baby's fuzz won't speed up Mom Nature at all...the hair follicles have to mature for a while on their own.

No her hair won't grow in thick if you do that, and why does it matter. It's her head and you should love her no matter what her hair looks like.

No, don't believe that Hype. Please, don't shave your baby head, she is still breathing thru her head.

Don't do that

How old is your baby? I've heard of baby's first hair-cut but this question seems absurd to me. Why would you want to put noisy clippers anywhere near a baby's head?

Okay, 6 mos. old. Did your doctor talk to you about the soft spot on top of baby's head. I can't believe this question. Are you for real.

Shave her head?Don't do that. When she gets a year or so old, just trim off the baby hair. That seems to help. Don't shave her head.

I have heard of people shaving their babies hair so it will come in thicker. But I thought that this is a cultural thing. Who knows, maybe that babies hair would have been thick regardless if they had their head shaved or not. My daughters have beautiful hair and I personally didn't shave their heads. But you know the saying "bald is beautiful!" And this always holds true when it's your own. As far as those giving advice doesn't mean you have to use that advice! It's your own little one to care for the way you see fit.

Good luck!

This is a tradition in India, but no, shaving your baby's head won't make the hair come in thicker.

Don't shave your daughters head,I've never heard of that let alone it being true. My daughter was pretty much bald until she was 5 months and then when she did get hair she had blad spots from where she laid down or rubbed her head on the carseat,etc...She is now almost 3 and has a beautiful head of thick hair.

No matter what you do your babies hair is going to do what it pretty much wants. I would suggest just sitting back and play the waiting game...don't worry whatever her hair looks like I'm sure she is beautiful and will stay that way whether her hair is thick or thin.

I trimmed my daughters bangs about 8 months ago and they are growing faster then the rest that I didn't trim so I trimmed the rest yesterday and when i say trim I mean like 1cm not a lot. So you can try trimming but DONT shave her head.

Ps. I am now letting her bangs grow and when they are to her shoulders I am going to cut it all that length so it will be the same length like mine all the way around.

Dont do that, it is bad luck to cut a babys hair before their first birthday.
