Invest in a smoothnig cream, and run it through your hair, it should get rid of some poof. You can buy them for really cheap, like less than five bucks.

I have really frizzy (poofy) hair too. I use an anti-frizz serum made by Pantene. It seems to work well and isn't too expensive (around $5 or $6). There are some shampoos too that help with frizz. A while back I used to use Infusium shampoo and leave-in conditioner. That works too. You can also use some mousse. Oh and what ever you do don't brush it when it's dry! Good luck.
