What should i do about my curly thick coarse discusting hair?
OKAY DONT GET IT CHEMICALLY STRAIGTEND!!
Week one
1.get a trim.
2.warm up some olive oil and put in hair with a shower cap and sleep in it.[extra virgin olive oil is the best]
3.when you wake up wash it out dont use a lot of shampoo though and use kinda a lot of conditioner leave in for 5minutes then wash out.[good shampoo and conditioner is shampoo:Instant Moisture Daily Shampoo by Paul Mitchell and conditioner Instant Moisture Daily Treatment by Paul Mitchell]
4.towel dry a little bit and put in some protein leave in condition I'll tell you the best thing in the world is [Extreme Anti Snap-Redken]
It has all the proteins you need for your hair. Then while your hair is still damp put in some serum so your hair doesnt get huge since your not blow drying it.The best serum to put in is [Super Skinny Serum-Paul Mitchell]
5.let your hair air dry.when its done put some thermal protection i reccomend using a serum that has heat protection like [Smooth Down Heat Glide-Redken]
6.Get a good ceramic straightener thats ceramic and do not use conair,or the wet 2 dry ones.Chi is the best but its very expencive but find a good one at a salon that costs 60$ so your not spending too much.[Bedheads flat iron works good]
7.when your done straightening it put some Sunsilk Hydra TLC 24/7 creme in your hair and then put some gloss drops in your hair by Paul Mitchell.

i would say to jus keep it the way it is. The outcome of guys who straighten their hair doesnt look so good if it already was curly. Cut it some... idk....
What should i do about my curly thick coarse discusting hair?
Go to a local salon and get a perm. That's the only thing I can think of. Or try and find a local beauty supply shop (ie. Sallys.com) and ask some of the employees to recommend a good product for your hair.

I know how you feel. I have the same hair. I tried all the chemicals and all it did was kill my hair. You could try De-Frizz shampoos and go to a stylist and ask for help. I guess my mom had worse hair then mine (which is horrible) and she said that right after she had my older sister her hair became softer and straighter..something with the hormones. I guess all we cn do is live with it..or keep killing our hair with chemicals that don't do crap.
Luckily I'm 8 months along with mine so hopefully I'll be lucky and my hair will change.

You are what you are. Shave your head and get a really nice expensive wig. No one will be able to tell and you will look so ravishingly beautiful. Gorgeous even!
True Story:
I dated a girl years ago who had that hair, and they called her Brillo head. She spent hundreds of dollars over just a few years trying to get her hair to look good. I spent $700 on a real hair wig and she loved it and looked great. Plus she never spent another dime on all the hair treatment stuff again. You will spend all that and more on treatments and still you will never be really happy. You hair will follow you throughout the years, everywhere you go. Check it out, you might be surprised. I'm just offering my advice and hoping to help you out.

Which straightener did you use and how long did you leave it on? I've had good results with the Ogilvie straightener from Wal Mart (or a drug store) but my hair is so coarse that I've left it on over an hour, even tho the directions say no more than 25 minutes. Maybe you didn't leave it on long enough?? Also, the temporary straighteners do zero for my hair. The best bet is use an extra hold mousse and go with the curls. It gets rid of all the frizz, hold your hair down from poofing and makes it softer and shinier looking. Then blow dry with a diffuser or air dry. Gels work Ok too but they make your hair take a long time to dry. Oh! FX Special Effects "Curls Up" works awesome on ends to keep them shiny and full of vitamins so they won't split. It's in a tall shaped golden bottle. I've always found the serums to just leave a layer of grease on top of the frizz.
